Stabilized western maple burl knife blank 36 with beautiful color and figure. This blank has been stabilized with a clear acrylic resin, and surfaced two sides to show it’s great depth of burl figure. Its color ranges from a golden honey to a lighter tan. Extremely solid and sound! Beyond a minor check on one end, this blank is free from any noticeable defect. Few minor natural imperfections are often present and seen as the blank is surfaced. Bark inclusions and natural defects are inherent with all burl, and maple is no exception. These natural imperfections are great for mineral inlay/color epoxies, as fillers, and can also enhance the final book match pattern of the scaled pieces.
