Beautiful stabilized western maple burl knife blank 37 with incredible color and spalted character. This blank has been stabilized with a clear acrylic resin. It’s been surfaced on two sides to show its amazing spalted, large-eye burl figure and color that ranges from a deep amber-brown to golden honey. There is a slight curve in the blank. Our pressure cooked/kiln dried blanks are sent to our acrylic stabilizing partner straight and true, however at times they return with a slight bend or curve due to the impregnation process on an industrial scale. The curves are marginal in proportion and the over-sized width usually compensates for it. Many times, we’ve heard a curve being incorporated into the design of a blade handle or pistol grip. There is still plenty of meat on the bone of stabilized western maple burl knife blank 37, and this blank will be at least 2″ wide when squared up. Truly a wonderful piece and surely to impress.
